Safe and Sound System

Backup Alarm Systems

A concern for any commercial alarm system is that the intruder will find access to the phone lines and cut them, thus disabling your connection to the central monitoring station.  In case this happens, the Safe and Sound security system provides, along with the standard devices of the system, a backup component that is activated if the phone lines get cut.  Either a cellular or radio backup system will signal the central monitoring stations informing them that the phone line was disabled.  There is also a backup battery to keep your security alarm working efficiently in case you lose all electrical power.  If your company uses Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) as your main phone system, a backup system is necessary.  The technology most commercial security alarm systems requires is not mandated by the same FCC standards as POTS so they are usually considered undependable and incompatible with VoIP.  These costumers are required to use a backup system in order for the monitored signal to go through to the central monitoring station.
